Thursday, July 11
1 p.m. – An out-of-control 11-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his mom’s boyfriend when he attempted to restrain the little hellion.
12:44 p.m. – Someone broke into a vacation cabin on Lanford Road in the Trinidad area. The thief stole wood and copper wire.
8:28 p.m. – Dennis George over imbibed on Frontier Road off Central Avenue. He was passed out on the driveway. Deputies woke up Mr. George and questioned him. Mr. George didn’t know where he was, where he lived or where he was going. But deputies knew where he was going – straight to the drunk tank at the county jail. Mr. George was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and a probation violation.
9:19 p.m. – Brian Lawrence was in the Moonstone Beach area and needed his car towed, so he called for a tow truck. When the tow truck driver arrived, Mr. Lawrence got the impression that the driver had somehow insulted his wife, so he allegedly assaulted the tow truck driver. Deputies were summoned. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Lawrence was “animated, argumentative and uncooperative.” He was arrested and booked into the county jail on suspicion of public intoxication.
Saturday, July 13
5:18 p.m. – On Scenic Driver near Baker Beach, a vehicle’s window was smashed out and stuff was stolen.
7:04 p.m. – After investigating a rape, deputies arrested David Anderson at an undisclosed location in McKinleyville. He was booked into the county jail on suspicion of rape, making threats, kidnapping to commit rape, unlawful intercourse with a minor under the age of 18, sexual battery, oral copulation with a minor and pandering.
Monday, July 15
11:52 a.m. – A residence was burglarized on the 4400 block of Fieldbrook Road.
1:56 p.m. – Sheriff’s deputies were looking for Michael Gulley and received a call notifying them of his whereabouts. They drove over to Bolier Avenue and found Mr. Gulley. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and for outstanding warrants.
9:35 p.m. – A family on Gibson Lane in Trinidad got into a argument. The argument then turned physical, which upset the family dog. The dog reacted by attacking and biting several family members. A neighbor then entered the fray and shot the dog before deputies arrived.
Tuesday, July 16
8:34 a.m. – The Sheriff’s Office received another report of a smash and grab vehicle burglary, this time on the 3200 block of Lily Road near the Airport Business Park.
9:56 a.m. – Someone abandoned a vehicle on Bird Avenue.
1:17 p.m. – A thief smashed a vehicle window, grabbed a backpack and ran away on the 2800 block of McKinleyville Avenue.
1:37 p.m. – A thief entered a barn on the 2500 block of Bolier Avenue and stole a chainsaw.
9:15 p.m. – Someone passed a counterfeit $20 bill at McDonald’s.
9:49 p.m. – A father went to drop his baby off at the mother’s house near Weirup Lane, but the mother was drunk. The Sheriff’s Office was called.
