3:46 p.m. – A home on Patricia Lane in McKinleyville was burglarized.
Monday, July 22
5:25 p.m. – Sheriff’s deputies were called to a disturbance at a home in McKinleyville. Herman “Pete” Easley had allegedly shoved his wife to the ground and choked her. Mr. Easley was arrested on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and booked into the county jail.
Tuesday, July 23
1:33 p.m. – A man on Bolier Street hadn’t seen his female friend for quite some time. This concerned him because the friend had been a victim of domestic violence, so he reported her as a missing person.
3:50 p.m. – While a pot of coffee incessantly stayed on at Opie’s Fine Cars, an employee was cleaning out a trade-in vehicle when he came across a wallet in a hidden compartment. The wallet contained several different identifications and credit cards, all under different names. Was the wallet left behind by an identity thief, or an international spy? Sheriff’s deputies were summoned to the scene to investigate.
5:50 p.m. – On Green Diamond property near Crannell Road and Little River Drive, a man was found dead in a pickup truck. Deputies were called to investigate. The man apparently suffered a heart attack.
Wednesday, July 24
2:37 a.m. – It was late at night as Robert Ganfield and his girlfriend got blottoed. Then they started fighting and a drunken tussle ensued. Deputies were called to the scene. Mr. Ganfield was arrested on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and taken to jail.
