Our father, Joseph Moyer, aka Papa Newt, died on July 25, 2013, surrounded by his family and wonderful, caring Humboldt County friends.
Born in Mechanicsburg, PA. on Sept. 7, 1918, he was just shy of his 95th birthday. He served his country as a pilot in WW II, attended SMU in Texas and worked as a electrical engineer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy, in 2010. We want to express our deep gratitude for the loving care he found at Timber Ridge Renaissance McKinleyville and Adult Day Health Care of Mad River. Thank you so much TR, ADHC, Hospice of Humboldt, Mad River Home Health, Eureka Internal Medicine. It is hard to express how much we appreciate your kindness.
There will be a celebration of his long, interesting life on Aug. 25, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the McKinleyville Timber Ridge activity room. We’d love to see everyone so we can thank them again for his incomparable care.
