New walking group forming at McK Sr. Center

A big thanks to Joe Reichert and his band of Jolly Leprechauns for cooking the Corned Beef and Cabbage Lunch and 90+ Birthday Celebration food on March 27. We had nine seniors attend who are 90+ years YOUNG this year. It was a great turnout of about 90 people – keep it mckseniorcenterbox.in mind for next year.

The annual plant sale will be starting April 15. The sale will run Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Plants are always very reasonable priced and we have not only plants but also seeds, pots, yard decorations – almost everything to do with gardening. The variety changes daily so more than one trip in is highly recommended. We are also accepting donations of plants, potting soil, pots and gardening items. Since we are a non-profit organization your donations may be tax deductible and if you would like a receipt for your donation it will be gladly provided.

Since the weather is warming and the days are longer the center will stop serving soup through the summer months. We will serve soup again in the fall when the weather cools a little.

We are keeping a Thursday meal beginning May. Each week we will change what we will be serving. The cost will be in the $2 to $3 range. We are looking at baked potato bar, salad, spaghetti, tacos, and sandwiches as a few of the weekly options. Watch this article and the monthly Centerline for each week’s variety.

There are a group of people who attend the Center that would like to start a walking group. Come by (or call) to get your name on the list. Be sure to leave you phone number also so you can be involved from the beginning meeting. It should be a good time with great company. We are lucky to have so many nice places to walk in our area.

The other sign up we have going is for ping pong. The center has the table, balls and paddles now we just need you. If you are interested come by or call to sign up.

  1. I am certainly interested in the walking group, and will enquire.

However out of general interest what are the distances covered by the walking group?

I still need to walk off Christmas weight.
