Holy Cow, it’s already July. Where is the year going? How are you doing on those New Year’s resolutions you made in January?
Today I am grateful that I’m getting this column completed in a timely fashion. It is harder to do some days than others and some days I’m just grateful that I made it to the end of the day – little steps I guess.
I hope everyone had a safe and sane Fourth of July. The fireworks started happening in my neighborhood as soon as the stands started going up. From the sights and sounds I would guess not all of them were legal by California standards – but they sure were pretty to watch.
The wood voucher people will be here on July 25 from 9:30 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. They are only in McKinleyville for one day so please pass the word to your friends so they don’t miss out.
Please bring last year’s income tax paperwork, two paycheck stubs, Social Security verification and ID as the wood is sold on a sliding scale according to your income.
The cost to have the wood delivered is separate fee that you pay when your wood is delivered. You can purchase up to two cords on July 25.
I have been putting in the wrong time for the walking group. The group meets and begins walking at 10:30 a.m .at Hiller Park each Wednesday and Friday. If you need a ride you need to be at the Center at 10:15. In error the Times Standard has printed that the walking group meets at 11 a.m. The actual time is 10:30. I hope there didn’t cause too much confusion.
Fran’s Thursday mini-meal will be macaroni and cheese and bread for $2. It’s good stuff. She starts serving at 11 a.m. and quits when she runs out of food or at 1 p.m. whichever happens first. The meals change weekly so come by and see what she is serving.
