The Humboldt County Planning Commission will consider two McKinleyville projects at its meeting Thursday, May 2. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Board of Supervisors’ Chambers inside the County Courtouse in Eureka.
The board will consider a modification to the conditions of approval for Phase Two of the Central Estates Subdivision. The project is located off Heartwood Drive in the vacant field between Miller Farms and McKinleyville Avenue.
McKinleyville developer JLF Construction is asking that the hours when construction is allowed be extended. Under the current permit, construction is limited to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with no construction on Sunday. The applicant is requesting that this be changed to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The restrictions would remain the same for Saturday and Sunday.
A public hearing is also scheduled for a Coastal Development Permit at 3036 Halfway Avenue. Larry and Roxanne Eaton have applied for a permit to remove and replace a manufactured home and covered deck at the location. The footprint of the new home and deck would be the same as the old one.
