Anastasia Zielinski, whose art work is shown locally and nationally, will conduct a workshop/demonstration Friday at Blake’s Books in McKinleyville starting at 6 p.m.
Zielinski will show participants how to make collages using cloth. She will have materials on hand for people to make their own collages at the free event. Throughout the evening she’ll demonstrate her techniques.
Blake’s Books is located at 2005 Central Avenue. The workshop is part of McKinleyville Art Night.
Zielinski was born in Washington D.C., but spent most of her childhood in the Pacific Northwest. She graduated in 2005 with a BFA in fine art from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She participated in her first Artist Residency during the summer of 2007 at New Pacific Studios in New Zealand. Inspired by that experience, she spent the next three years travelling, meeting new artists and sharing her love of art through teaching. Zielinski moved to Humboldt County in February of 2011. Ms. Zielinski has shown her work internationally, nationally and locally at Ramone’s, Blake’s Books, and Arcata Plaza Design. A full CV can be see on her website www.anastasiazielinski.com.
