Mack Track does well in Redding

The McKinleyville High School Track Team competed in Redding on Saturday, March 30.

The women’s team took fourth place led by Ali Smith and Morgin Coonfield, who had two wins a piece. Chloe Tripp also won the high jump, and Carmen Arguello took fifth in both the 1600 and 800.

Women’s results

Ali Smith had a productive day at the meet. She took third place in the 100 meters varsity prelims, then first place in the 100 meters varsity finals.

Marisa Gloor took eighth place in the frosh/soph 200 meters varsity finals.

Ashley Egbert took sixth place in the 400 meters varsity finals. Marissa Gloor took ninth place in the 400 meters frosh/soph finals.

Carmen Arguello took fifth place in the 800 meters varsity finals. Sophia Haag took sixth place in the 800 meters frosh/soph finals.

In the 1600 varsity finals, Morgin Coonfield took first place, and Carmen Arguello took fifth place.

Ali Smith took first place in the 33 inch 100 meters varsity prelims and finals.

Chloe Tripp took eighth place in the 30 inch 300 meters hurdles varsity finals.

In the varsity finals 4×400 relay, the girls took seventh place. The team included Ashley Egbert, Kayla Templeton, Carmen Arguello and Corina Gloor.

Men’s results

Gage Grace took sixth place in the 100 meters varsity prelims, then took fifth place in the 100 meter varsity finals.

Bernnie Trice took seventh place in the 200 meters varsity prelims and sixth place in the 200 meters varsity finals. Trice also took fifth place in the 400 meters varsity finals.

Distance runner John Milender took seventh place in the 1600 meters varsity finals.

Two Mckinleyville runners were neck-and-neck in the 3200 meters varsity finals, with Connor Trump taking sixth place and Jasen Coley taking eighth place.

The Mack boys took sixth place in the 4 x 100 relay varsity finals. The team consisted of Gage Grace, Bennie Trice, Laine Grace and Travis Witte.

Travis Witte also took eighth place in the varsity finals long jump. Bennie Trice took seventh place in the varsity finals triple jump.
