Welcome to March, the first month of the year with no major holidays. So, that will give you more opportunity to come visit the McKinleyville Senior Center.
March 20 will be our monthly luncheon. It is a week earlier than normal. Joe and the Giant Leprechauns will be cooking corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and dessert. Due to inflation the cost will be $5 per person and reservation are a must. The reservation sign up list is at the hostess desk or you can reserve your spot by calling 839-0191 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is also our annual luncheon celebrating those who are 90+ years old, their lunch will be no charge. Reservations must be made by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 15. Come join us for a rousing afternoon.
At the March 20th luncheon the Humboldt Accordionaires will be performing a concert. The concert is free and will begin at 12:30 for those of you who don’t want lunch but would like to hear some great accordion music.
The VHS video lending library is now up and running. We have a great selection of movies, television shows, comedy and travel videos ready for you to borrow and return.
Come join us for your exercise. The Center offers Tai Chi Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m. We offer OsteoX (a balance and strength building) class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 and for those late risers we offer PM Exercise on Tuesday afternoons at 1:30. Each class lasts about one hour.
Having problems with your computer? The Center offers a computer class on Monday from 1:30 until 3:30, a beginning computer class on Tuesday mornings from 11 am until noon and a computer repair/debugging group on Wednesday mornings between 9am and noon. Joe and Bob (our computer gurus) can help with your problems.
Don’t forget the Jazz Festival the end of the Month. It is a lot of toe tapping, dancing good time.
