The Mckinleyville Senior Center regular board meeting will be Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. in the senior room. Everyone is welcome to attend. This is the meeting to attend to see when new and interesting things are happening around the center. This is also the place to bring your suggestions on how to make the center a better place for everyone over the age of 50.
April 21 through 27 is National Volunteer Week. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 40+ volunteers that help the center run. Without these fine people the Center would not exist. When you come to the Center please join me in thanking the desk hostesses, class and group leaders, Bingo callers, Kitchen Crew, Bread and Starbucks helpers. Some of these people get up really early and pick up goodies as early as 6:30am for the rest of us to use and enjoy. They are dedicated and I want them to know that their efforts do not go unnoticed.
The Center now has a couple of bath benches and a bath stool available for loan. Thanks to those who donated them. We are still in need of a couple of rollater type walkers and bedside commodes if you happen to have one collecting dust at your place. Those in need really appreciate the loan.
