Beer Bandit Strikes Again

Friday, Jan. 4

11:09 p.m. – James Brown was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public after deputies received a complaint of an unwanted subject at a saloon in the 1600 block of Central Avenue.

Saturday, Jan. 5

sheriffslogbox1:49 a.m. – A beer bandit struck the 76 Gas Station mini mart on Murray Road and got away with an 18-pack of Budweiser. After heisting the beer, the thirsty thief jumped into an older white Toyota pickup. The suspect matched the description of the beer thief who hit Roger’s Market on School Road and stole an 18-pack of Coors on Dec. 12.

10:12 a.m. – A resident on Westhaven Drive called the Sheriff’s Department to report that he believes his neighbor is maliciously removing fence posts from his yard after he complained that his overgrown hedge is a traffic hazard.

Sunday, Jan. 6

5:36 p.m. – A woman reported that her homeless, drug-addicted grandson stole her Xbox.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

11:14 a.m. – A bicycle was stolen from Comkid Lane in McKinleyville.

2:36 p.m. – Someone was reportedly “combative” near Central Avenue and Eagle Lane. No additional details were available.

2:46 p.m. – A house was burglarized in the 3900 block of Fieldbrook Road.

10:48 p.m. – A male and a female got into some sort of altercation at a bar in the 1600 block of Central Avenue.
