The McKinleyville Press was a weekly community newspaper serving communities in Humboldt County, Calif., north of the Mad River, including McKinleyville, Fieldbrook, Westhaven, Trinidad, Big Lagoon and Orick. The newspaper had coverage of county-wide issues, and hads readers scattered all over Humboldt and across the United States.
The McKinleyville Press was founded in 1996 and is owned by Jack Durham, who served as the newspaper’s editor, publisher, advertising director, circulation manager and paperboy.
A small army of reporters, columnists and contributors from the community provided content every week, creating a truly hometown community newspaper.
